Dr. Jerry (Zi Yi) Li grew up in North York, Ontario but has lived in Chatham-Kent, Edmonton, and Markham as well. He earned his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biochemistry from Queen's University in 2018 and co-authored a publication on plant biochemistry. He then received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2024. While in optometry school, Dr. Li served terms as the President of the Optometry Student Society (UWOSS), as a Student Ambassador to the school, and as Director of Professional Development for the Canadian Association of Optometry Students. He also took part in a volunteer trip to Senegal, Africa to provide charitable eye care to under-serviced rural communities. He represented his class as Valedictorian during graduation, and was also the recipient of the OSI Vision Entrepreneur Award.
Dr. Li is passionate about providing the best possible eye care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Having worn glasses since he was a little boy and suffering from a corneal ulcer in high school, he has many personal connections to the field of optometry.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Li enjoys cooking, watching movies, hiking, and spending quality time with his wife and his dog, Ziggy.
